About Me

I’m an accredited Executive Coach.  I have been in senior leadership roles over the last 20 years in an international professional services company, including running a successful consulting practice and leading the senior management team.

I have an MSc in Economics and MSc in Psychology with distinction. My coaching skills cover strategic and solution-focussed  approaches, cognitive psychology and mindfulness.  I have practitioner certificates in Coaching Psychology and in Stress Management.

I actually started my working life at the age of 16.  I was a gas fitter and plumber for 10 years repairing gas boilers and unblocking drains. At that time, unwittingly I was getting a very good education for life as a union representative for over 100 gas fitters and plumbers working in schools all over London.  At that time we worked regularly with asbestos, unaware of its dangers. I’m proud that I was influential in challenging management for much safer working conditions. I learned then that sometimes you need grit and effort to change things.

I went to university in my mid-20s and studied economics to MSc level and then became an academic researcher at the Institute for Fiscal Studies.  Although I could speak to 100s of building workers at union meetings, I had terrible anxiety speaking in public or in the media, and went to a therapist to get some help.  That worked and it taught me how the mind can easily distort reality and how it’s possible to combat that. So, if you need a speaker, please ask, I really enjoy it.

I have spent nearly 30 years in economics and 21 of those at a company called Frontier Economics. Frontier is an extraordinary successful company with a great culture, and in my roles as board director and head of a practice, I believe I have been influential in its success.

I have 100s hours of experience helping people develop their careers– at all levels.  I help people develop solutions that helps them get to where they want to be.  I combine a growth mindset approach (seeking opportunity, putting in the effort, and having grit and energy) with a considerate way of working (non-judgemental, empathetic and compassionate). I thoroughly enjoy coaching and supporting people and I put my heart and soul into it.

I am a Principal Practitioner member of the Association of Business Psychologists, an accredited foundation level Executive Coach with the Association of Coaching, and I am a member of the Institute of Leadership and Management.  I am an associate member of the International Society of Coaching Psychologists and a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society.
